Reflecting on 2015:

Today marks the conclusion of 2015, my first year fighting for Michigan families in the United States House of Representatives.

In that first year, I introduced 16 pieces of legislation and co-sponsored many more, some of which were signed into law.  I also authored two amendments that were adopted into broader pieces of legislation that passed, including one fighting for the educational success of foster children.

I started the Skilled Workforce Congressional Caucus and restarted the Former Mayors Caucus.  As a member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, I garnered national attention pushing back against partisan witch hunts and overreach.

There was also the big win of helping bring home Millions in federal dollars to Detroit and Michigan, to be invested back into our neighborhoods.  Also in our district, we reached thousands of constituents to help them with problems and connect them with resources.

Although I was able to score some wins in 2015, I need your help to be successful in 2016.

Can you help me keep fighting for us in Congress?

If you’re able to donate to my re-election campaign, but unable to give online, please make checks payable to ‘Brenda Lawrence for Congress’ and mail to Post Office Box 3060, Southfield, Michigan 48037.

Any amount would be a great boost to our organizing efforts.

Thank you for your support in 2015; with your help, we can be successful in 2016!

Happy New Year,

Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence

Michigan’s 14th District
